Singapore Visa Types We Support

Tourist Visa

For leisure travel, sightseeing, and visiting friends or family. Issued as an e-visa for eligible nationalities applying through authorized channels.

Business Visa (short-term)

For meetings, conferences, and short business visits. Does not authorize local employment — work requires an appropriate work pass.

Employment Pass

For foreign professionals, managers, and executives employed by a Singapore-registered company. Employer-led application via MOM.

S Pass

For mid-level skilled staff. Employer applies with salary and qualifications criteria; subject to quotas and government levies.

ICA, Authorized Agents & E-Visa

Singapore entry requirements are overseen by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Many short-term visit visas are processed as e-visas — you receive a PDF to print and present on arrival.

  • ICA sets visa policy, entry conditions, and Form 14A requirements. Always confirm the latest rules on the official ICA website before you apply.
  • Many applicants from India and other countries must apply through authorized visa agents or the Singapore embassy / high commission in their jurisdiction — online self-filing is not always available.
  • The e-visa system delivers your approved visa by email. Print a clear copy, carry it with your passport, and ensure details match your travel documents.

Singapore Travel & Visa — Dos & Don'ts

Do's

Follow Singapore's laws strictly

Penalties for many offenses are severe. Read up on local rules before you travel.

Respect chewing gum import rules

Do not bring chewing gum for sale or in commercial quantities — import for sale is restricted.

Use bins and avoid littering

Littering fines are heavy. Dispose of trash only in designated bins.

Carry a printed copy of your e-visa

Immigration may ask to see your visa printout alongside your passport.

Have sufficient funds for your stay

Officers may ask for proof you can cover accommodation and daily expenses.

Keep your passport valid for at least six months

Many airlines and immigration checks expect remaining validity beyond your intended departure.

Don'ts

Don't smoke outside designated smoking areas

Smoking is restricted to marked zones; fines apply for violations.

Don't jaywalk

Use pedestrian crossings and traffic signals — jaywalking can result in fines.

Don't bring durian on public transport

MRT and buses ban durian due to the strong smell — enjoy it at the stall, not on the train.

Don't overstay your visa or pass

Overstaying is taken seriously and can affect future travel to Singapore.

Don't carry or traffic illegal drugs

Singapore has zero tolerance; drug offenses carry extremely severe penalties including capital punishment in some cases.

Don't work on a tourist or short-term visit visa

Paid employment requires a valid work pass (e.g. Employment Pass or S Pass), not a visit visa.

Step-by-Step Singapore Visa Application Process

Step 1

Check If You Need a Visa

Confirm your nationality and travel purpose on the ICA website. Some passport holders enjoy visa-free entry; others must apply for a visit visa before travel.

Tip: Rules change — always verify shortly before booking flights.
Step 2

Apply Through an Authorized Agent or Singapore Embassy

In many countries, applications are filed only via ICA-authorized visa agents or the Singapore embassy / high commission. Choose the channel that applies to your residence country and obtain Form 14A.

Step 3

Submit Your Documents

Provide passport, photos, completed Form 14A, return tickets, and supporting documents (bank statements, employment letter, hotel booking, invitation, ITR, etc.) exactly as your agent or mission requires.

Step 4

Pay the Visa Fee

Pay the applicable fee — typically around SGD $30 for a visit visa (confirm current amount with your agent). Keep receipts or reference numbers as instructed.

Fee: SGD $30 (standard visit visa — verify locally)
Step 5

Receive Your E-Visa

Once approved, you will usually receive an e-visa by email within about 3-5 business days (processing times can vary). Check spam folders and verify all personal details on the PDF.

Typical processing: 3-5 business days
Step 6

Print and Carry Your Visa

Print a clear copy of your e-visa and carry it with your passport at check-in and immigration. No interview is required for standard visit visas — entry is still subject to officer discretion at the border.

A visa does not guarantee entry — comply with all laws and carry supporting documents if asked.

Frequently Asked Questions — Singapore Visa

Singapore enforces laws firmly and consistently. Offenses such as drug trafficking, vandalism, and serious fraud carry very heavy penalties. Everyday rules — littering, smoking outside zones, jaywalking — also attract fines. Read official guidance and respect signage.
If you remain airside and do not pass through immigration, many nationalities do not need a visa for transit. If you must enter Singapore (e.g. collect bags, change terminals landside), normal entry rules apply — check ICA and your airline for your passport and itinerary.
Extensions are not automatic. You may apply to ICA for an extension in eligible cases before your pass or visit stay expires. Approval depends on your profile, purpose, and immigration policy — apply early and never overstay while waiting for a decision.
No. Paid employment requires a valid work pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower (e.g. Employment Pass or S Pass). A visit visa is for tourism or short-term visits such as meetings — not for taking up a job.
Validity and stay are printed on your e-visa. Many visit visas allow 30 days per entry, with multiple entry possible for up to two years when ICA approves that category — exact terms vary by applicant. Each entry's permitted stay is decided at immigration and must match your visa conditions.
